Knock A Gnome
Knock A Gnome is a VR game where players suit up to protect their garden from angry gnomes. The project utilizes a RotoChair, an electric chair that rotates around a center point, to fully immerse the player with the feeling of riding a lawnmower through their garden. Knock A Gnome was developed by a team of 17 for Bradley University’s FUSE, an annual showcase of Interactive Media students’ projects.
Development
I was the programming lead on this project. I reviewed all code within the project before it was implemented, managed the programming team, and worked in engine to pick up extra tasks. I worked with Unity 3D, C#, ShaderGraph, VR hardware, and external RotoChair software.
As programming lead, I was able to decide most of the technical design for the code base and for programming implementation. At the polish point of the project, I was in charge of implementing final art shader effects to control the look of the environment.
Post Release
Knock A Gnome was completed in April 2025 and was featured at Bradley University’s FUSE 2025. Knock A Gnome was also showcased at Big Picture Peoria in 2025.
