I’m Sky Beal, a recent Game Design grad from Bradley University.
I was introduced to the joy of video games at a young age, and it’s stuck with me ever since. From late night Mario playthroughs with my family to my ever expanding Steam collection, my love of gaming has only been growing.
I’ve always been deeply ingrained in both art and academic spheres, and video game development is a beautiful combination of the two. Having an artistic background allows me to address technical problems from a unique perspective.
I love working on hierarchical state machines, VFX, and general gameplay implementation. I have experience using:
I have gotten the opportunity to work on numerous projects throughout my years at Bradley, which has strengthened my skills in cooperative development. Working with others has taught me how to take and give constructive feedback, communicate effectively, and properly address conflict within a work environment.
On campus, I like to keep myself busy through lots of different clubs and organizations. I spend my time acting as the graphic designer for Barbeque Kitten Improv, playing trumpet in Bradley’s pep band, and participating in game jams. I also work part time on an educational surgery simulator experience for OSF Innovation.
Outside of college, I enjoy playing video games with friends, working out at the gym, drawing, and going on walks!
My ultimate goal is to create impactful and touching experiences for others the same way games have for me.
